New Year's Resolutions
Do you make New Year's Resolutions?
I used to but to be honest I haven't in a long time. I make a resolution each year to not make any resolutions.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with making them if that is what you want to do. But when it comes to myself, I just don't find it necessary anymore.
And who likes to be a failure? I see so many people say what their new years years resolutions are going to be for the new year, and only get through the first month sticking to that promise. Or sometimes not even that long.
I know first hand it happens that way because I spent too many years failing at keeping my new years resolutions so I made a vow to my self from then on out to not make any new years resolutions anymore. And guess what, I've been able to stick to it!
I'll just take one day at a time and focus on the issues, good or bad one at a time. I may or may not lose the weight that I'd love to lose, or I may or may not get that organizing completed that needs doing, or a million other things that could be improved. But at least I will feel less like a failure by not trying to stick to some new years resolution.
We are hard enough on ourselves as it is when we don't get the things accomplished that we know needs doing so to just add the stress of making that promise at the first of the year to get it done, only adds to the failure we face.
So go ahead and make a new years resolution or make a few and may you stick to them all and become a stronger person for it. But as for me, I'll make small choices each day because I know myself well enough to know that its what works best for me.
Happy New Year Everyone! God Bless!
