Part 7 Our long lost baby brother is found!

When I first spoke to my siblings this was also when I was informed about the possibility of us not having the same father.  But I didn't let that stop me from helping find this new younger brother that I was told about and still considered him as my brother as well regardless of if he ended up being my biological brother or not. I wanted to reunite him with us. So, I set my mind to help find where our little brother might be at, no matter how long that may take. It would take about another fifteen years before I got a lead and most of that time was spent just hoping and praying that somehow I'd run into him one day.

Finally I decided to get serious about locating him so with only his first and last name, his approximate age and last known location  I checked Facebook first but had no luck. So then, I created a Myspace account and checked that. Bingo, he was on there but this is when Myspace was becoming less popular and Facebook was becoming more popular. So, the friend request and message that I sent to the Myspace account went unnoticed and unanswered. But I didn't stop there, I searched the internet day and night and discovered the White Pages site along with a couple other verifying sites. I was able to get an address and phone number from there. I wasn't sure if it was an updated one or not but I gave it a shot. Because the phone numbers I tried didn't get me anywhere either. I mailed off a letter explaining who I was and why I was searching for him.

As I waited to hear back from this brother, I was still searching for him elsewhere. In the meantime I learned a few other things about him just by searching the internet. Which on a side note, this can be a good or bad thing. Just knowing certain info is out there about us all, on the internet for all to read. Also on another side note I didn't find out anything bad about this brother but I did find out his middle name, birth date and what school he attended all from searching the internet.

I was also able to verify that he was not the one involved in an incident that took place years before that was a rumor the family had heard about and was told that it was him. However it was a person by the same first and last name but a little younger that had committed this crime and this same person has been in several crimes since.

So, with my new found info of birth date and middle name also knowing what football team he liked by seeing that much on his Myspace account I decided to search Facebook once again. Up to this point I hadn't really seen any updated pictures of what he looked like. His Myspace account only had a couple of photos and you couldn't see his face that well.

So, I decided that I would go back to Facebook, type in his name, and location. This time there were many people with the same name. The first time I had tried searching Facebook there were about three people with the name I was searching. Anyhow, I started scrolling down the list to see if anyone stood out to me.

There it was, a profile that matched my info that I had. But no profile picture other than a football logo, but nether the less the same football team that I knew that my brother apparently liked. Could this actually be him. I looked the profile over and it didn't have hardly any info and wasn't public at the time but something just told me this could be him. So after a little while of debating if it could be him or not, I sent the friend request. Then I waited.....

In the meantime I was so excited that I messaged my niece to tell her that I thought I may have found him, I was so sure it was going to be him. I also told my daughter and she and my niece both sent him friend requests. I started getting nervous then that we may scare him away. haha! By this point in my search for him it had taken around a month.

Right before noon, the friend request was accepted and when the notification came through that he had accepted it, I was at the bank at the moment and about broke my neck to get back home so that I could jump on my home computer and about knocking my daughter out of the chair to take a look at his profile to see if I had found him or if it was someone totally different. So without knowing what he really looked like, I click on his account and there was a photo of him.

I instantly knew it was him!!!! I just knew it had to be him. He favored my older brother, so I was very sure it could be him!! But I started chatting with him just to make sure. I asked him if his parents and siblings were so and so and he verified that they were. I then told him that his siblings were searching for him. He was blown away but was excited to know that. Then I broke the news to him of who I was. I wasn't sure what to expect then but he was so happy to know that he had another sister. He doesn't remember being told about me when he was younger. Even though my siblings had told him about me. But that didn't matter, I had found him and had broke the news of being his sister and it was a wonderful conversation.

We later met up with he and his newly wed wife and then later I was able to reunite him with my sister. He has spoken to my other brothers by phone. He and I live within a couple hours apart but our other siblings are spread out in different states.

He was not the only younger sibling that I had learned about upon my reuniting. I was told that our mother had at least two other children after me. Possibly more but at least two that any family had known about. She supposedly had a set of twin boys and one died at birth and the other was placed for adoption. Supposedly she had another boy who was also placed for adoption. As of now, we do not know where or who they are.

This is part 7 of many parts. There are more parts to come!
